Plum iTV Middleware is extensive software with many features and functionalities which enable subscribers to have unique iTV experience.
Middleware implements data processing, security, administrating the system, offering of various applications for subscribers, detail statistics about different types of assets…
Plum iTV Middleware also enables subscribers to access all the features of iTV such are TimeShift, CatchUp, BuffetTV, nPVR, VoD…
Backend part of the Middleware consists of CMS (Central Management System), Monitoring, Export of billing data, Statistics, Security - Tokenization, DRM, Self-protect mechanism.
Middleware’s important part is GUI which enables complete administration of the subscriber’s panel ( creating/editing/deleting of subscribers, packets, adding/editing /deleting resources such are channels, VoD’s, viewing of statistics panel, setting languages for applications… )
Middleware is integrated with Plum iTV Media Engine (Streamer, Load-balancer, NAS) and Plum iTV Transcoder GUI interface so it forms a CMS (Central Management System) for whole IPTV solution. All components of GUI are implemented in only one Administrative Panel. The only separated part is Plum iTV Monitoring.
Admin panel contains all relevant pages for administrating such as Resources ( TV and Radio channels, VoDs ), Subscribers, Packages ( for channels, VoDs, profiles for multi-user, storage packages ), Categories, Promotions, Language settings and other settings on the system.
Plum iTV Monitoring enables gathering of statistical information from all system elements covering end-to- end scenario. Statistical information includes CPU load, memory and disk utilization, as well as bandwidth monitoring. Besides core IPTV system elements (Frontend, Middleware, Database, Transcoder) monitoring solution also integrates switching and routing elements, caching and load-balancing elements as well as dedicated network storage. Monitoring system could be extended to include other existing or new third-party elements using standard SNMP protocols such is EPG server.
All gathered statistics is visually presented on a system dashboard and it can be presented per each system element or as a slide show of key performance measurements gathered in real time from all elements.
